What is the Super Council?
The Labour Government, supported by local Liberal Democrats, have put forward a plan to abolish all local councils, and Hampshire County Council, and create five new super councils.
That means moving our communities into an expanded Southampton super authority.
This plan would fundamentally redraw where our communities belong, it would hike council taxes, and would leave rural communities ignored by Southampton Labour and Liberal Democrats.

Local committees replaced. High-density development forced onto villages and green belt.
Schools & services
Education, social care and highways restructured under a distant urban authority.
Your voice, diluted
Representation for rural and semi-rural communities will be substantially reduced. Our voices will count for less, and our priorities more easily ignored.
Local investment, undermined
Tax revenue pooled centrally. Rural roads, village amenities and the character that protects what your area is worth — deprioritised.
